A baby is a special gift for every mother. The news of the baby's birth and the waiting for the baby are gratifying and intimidating at the same time, so during the whole waiting, it is important for each expectant mother to pay special attention and help to make the pregnancy easier and calmer. 

The pregnancy care program is an expectant mother and fetal health screening program, during which pregnant women are cared for by qualified obstetricians-gynecologists at the Ąžuolynas Medical Clinic. During this program, necessary tests are performed to prevent maternal and fetal diseases and complications and ensure a woman's mental well-being. At the clinic, we ensure professional and great care of pregnant women to ensure that the waiting period is safe and smooth. 

Purpose of the Pregnancy Care Program

To provide pregnant women with professional and great care during the whole expectation – to take care of the health of the woman and the fetus to avoid diseases, complications and to ensure the good emotional well-being of the expectant woman so that she feels stronger and safer.

PREGNANCY CARE PROGRAM:

Pregnancy care program (I trimester – up to 14 weeks) 1st visit (up to 12 weeks): 

  • consultation with an obstetrician-gynecologist (first visit); 
  • early ultrasound diagnosis of pregnancy; 
  • family doctor consultation; 
  • consultation with a dentist. 

Labaratory tests:

  • general blood test, RPR (for syphilis), HIV;
  • blood group determination;
  • detection of RhD antibodies when female RhD (-) and male RhD (+);
  • HbsAg (hepatitis B surface antigen);
  • glycemia; 
  • urine test; 
  • urine culture (performed at 12–16 weeks); 
  • Prenatal Risk Study (PRISCA). 

Additional procedures and tests:

  • consultation with an endocrinologist. 
  • bacterioscopic examination of vaginal discharge; 
  • toxoplasma IgM and IgG;
  • cytomegalovirus IgM and IgG;
  • TSH, free triiodothyronine (FT3), free thyroxine (FT4).

Pregnancy care program (I trimester – up to 14 weeks). 2nd visit (14 days after the day of the laboratory tests):

  • consultation with an obstetrician-gynecologist (second visit within 14 days from the date of the examination); 
  • fetal ultrasound examination. 

Pregnancy care program (II trimester – 14–28 weeks) 3rd visit (18–23 weeks): 

  • consultation with an obstetrician-gynecologist (18–20 weeks); 
  • fetal ultrasound examination.  

Pregnancy care program (II trimester – 14–28 weeks) 4th visit (23–25 weeks): 

  • consultation with an obstetrician-gynecologist (24–25 weeks); 
  • fetal ultrasound examination. 

Laboratory tests:  

  • urine test (protein, leukocytes, erythrocytes, glucose, ketones, nitrites, reference weight);

Pregnancy care program (II trimester – 14–28 weeks) 5th visit (2528 weeks):

  • consultation with an obstetrician-gynecologist (28 weeks); 
  • fetal ultrasound examination. 

Laboratory tests: 

  • urine test (protein, leukocytes, erythrocytes, glucose, ketones, nitrites, reference weight);
  • glucose tolerance test (3 points, 24–28 weeks +6 days); 
  • detection of RhD antibodies when female RhD (-) and male RhD (+) at 27–28 weeks. +6 days);
  • anti D gammaglobulin injection (28–30 weeks +6 days) with female RhD (-) and male RhD (+). 

Pregnancy care program (III trimester – 29–40 weeks) 6th visit (2835 weeks): 

  • consultation with an obstetrician-gynecologist (30 weeks);
  • modified biophysical profile, issuance of a certificate of maternity leave (30 weeks).

Laboratory tests: 

  • urine test (protein, leukocytes, erythrocytes, glucose, ketones, nitrites, reference weight); 
  • general blood test, RPR, HIV; 
  • group B group streptococcus (35–37 weeks 6 days).

Pregnancy care program (III trimester – 29–40 weeks) 7th visit (35–37 weeks):

  • consultation with an obstetrician-gynecologist (35–37 weeks);
  • fetal ultrasound examination. 

Laboratory tests:

  • urine test (protein, leukocytes, erythrocytes, glucose, ketones, nitrites, reference weight).

Pregnancy care program (III trimester – 29–40 weeks) 8th visit (37–41 weeks): 

  • consultation with an obstetrician-gynecologist (37–41 weeks). 

Laboratory tests:

urine test (protein, leukocytes, erythrocytes, glucose, ketones, nitrites, reference weight).

Pregnancy care program (III trimester – 29–40 weeks) 9th visit (41 weeks and more):

  • consultation with an obstetrician-gynecologist (41 weeks or 2 months after delivery).
