Surgery is always an interventional procedure, and proper wound care is important to avoid infections and serious complications. How the wound heals depends on the patient, so it is necessary to follow the doctor's recommendations. The following steps usually can not be done in the postoperative period:

  • Irrigate wounds;
  • Intense exercise;
  • Sunbathing;
  • Touch wounds with dirty hands.

After the surgery, the doctor will always inform you how to take care of yourself during this period. However, if you notice any of the following symptoms, contact your doctor as soon as possible:

  • The wound swelled and turned red;
  • The wound does not stop bleeding;
  • The wound abscesses or releases other fluids;
  • The wound emits an unpleasant odor;
  • The body temperature rose.

We provide the following postoperative services at Ąžuolynas Medical Clinic & SPA:

  • Wound dressing (change of bandages and patches);
  • Suture removal.
